Zuzanna Kledzik: art should have a greater purpose

It's impressive how a single story can inspire such diversity through different mediums! Visual artists from around the world are taking part in WHISTLE project, in an attempt to present a multi-sensory experience never attempted before in the Greek visual art scene. And that's because we do not think of visual art as an experience that when viewed fades away, but as an excuse, a triggering event, a reason to produce an artistic conversation and a literal dialogue with everyone interested. This is the way we feel visual art should work.

In this short article we present the work of Zuzanna Kledzik, a talented illustrator from Poland.

Why did you decide to participate in the project?
I always drew pieces just for my own pleasure. It gives me a lot of joy. I decided to take part in the project, because I wanted to showcase my artworks to a wider audience. I believe  that art should have a greater purpose then being just created, confined in a sketchbook.

What intrigued you?
I was really intrigued be the unusual theme of the project. On top of that, there was the fact that you called upon all visual artists to take part. Regardless of artistic background or skills. Everyone can be a  part of it. Everyone can create openly!

How did you get inspiration?
I drew inspiration mainly by the story itself. The theme, artistic style and the material I received from the production team. I also tried my best to imagine the whole situation for myself. Put myself into the story.

What technique did you follow?
When it comes to drawing I like to try different techniques. This time I used ink because, in my opinion it suits the movie, the best way. Unsteady and mysterious, that's all I can say.
All the works created for WHISTLE project by Zuzanna, will be available to the public during the transmedia exhibition.
